Supersets let you link two exercises together so PRactical defers the rest timer until you've finished both movements in a round. Ideal for antagonist pairs, alternating upper/lower splits, or any back-to-back format where you don't rest between exercises.

Tap the link icon on the first exercise

During an active workout, each exercise card has a small chain icon in its top-right corner (next to the X remove button). Tap it on the exercise you want to use as the first movement. The card highlights with an orange border — this means you're now in linking mode.

Tap 'Tap to pair' on the second exercise

Once linking mode is active, all other exercises on the screen show a 'Tap to pair' button. Tap it on the exercise you want to pair with. A dashed orange 'Superset' connector pill appears between the two cards, and the second exercise shows a 'Next up' badge.

Log each exercise in turn

Work through the superset as you normally would — log a set on the first exercise, then move to the second. The rest timer won't start until you've logged a set on both exercises in the same round. Once both are done, a 60-second rest timer starts automatically.

Unlinking a superset

To break up a superset, tap the 'Unlink' button next to the orange connector pill, or tap the chain icon on either paired card. Both exercises immediately return to independent status and their own 90-second rest timers.

Frequently asked questions

Why isn't the rest timer starting after I log the first exercise?

That's by design. In a superset, PRactical waits until you've logged a set on both exercises in the current round before starting the 60-second rest. This keeps you moving between the two movements without a premature break.

Can I pair more than two exercises together?

Currently PRactical supports pairing exactly two exercises as a superset. Tri-sets and giant sets (3+ exercises) are not yet supported.

Do supersets save when I finish the workout?

Yes. The superset grouping is saved as part of your workout record and is visible in the workout detail view in your History.
