This Privacy Policy describes how PRactical ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the PRactical mobile application and website at practicalworkouts.com. By using PRactical, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
When you create an account, we collect the information needed to identify and authenticate you:
- Email and password registration: Your email address, an optional display name, and a password stored as a salted bcrypt hash. We never store your password in plain text.
- Sign in with Apple: Your Apple-assigned user ID, and your name and email address if you choose to share them at sign-in. Apple only provides your name and email on your first sign-in; on subsequent logins we identify you solely by your Apple user ID. Apple users are not required to set a password.
When you use the app, we store the workout data you log on our servers: exercise names, sets, weights, reps, dates, personal records, body weight entries, workout templates, and session history. This data is stored server-side so it is accessible across devices and preserved if you reinstall the app. When you contact us through the contact form or by email, we collect the content of your message.
Information collected automatically
Our servers collect standard HTTP request logs when you use the app or visit the website. These logs may include your IP address, device type, operating system version, app version, and the timing of requests. We use this information to diagnose errors and maintain service reliability. We do not use in-app behavioral analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
The PRactical website (practicalworkouts.com) uses Google Analytics to collect standard web analytics data, including pages visited, session duration, approximate geographic location (country/region), browser type, and device type. This data is collected in aggregate to help us understand how visitors use the site and improve it over time. Google Analytics data is not linked to your PRactical account and is not used to identify you personally. We do not use this data for advertising and do not share it with third parties beyond what is described in this policy.
Information from third parties
If you purchase a Premium subscription, RevenueCat processes the transaction through Apple or Google and shares subscription status information with us (e.g., whether your subscription is active, when it renews, and which plan you're on). We receive only what's necessary to unlock Premium features — we do not receive your payment card details. If you contact us through the HubSpot form on our website, your message and contact details are also stored in HubSpot's platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide and operate the PRactical service, including storing your workout data and making it accessible across your devices. We use your email address to send account-related messages such as email verification codes and password reset codes. We use technical and usage information to diagnose bugs, improve performance, and develop new features. We use your subscription status from RevenueCat to determine which features you have access to. We do not use your workout data for advertising, and we do not build ad profiles based on your activity.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data and workout history for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, your data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days of the request. Backup copies may persist for up to an additional 30 days before being fully purged. If you export your data before deletion, that local copy is yours to keep. We may retain anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., total number of workouts logged across all users) indefinitely, as this data cannot be linked back to you.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to access the information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, and request deletion of your account and associated data. You can export a full copy of your workout data at any time from within the app (Profile → Settings → Export Data). You can opt out of marketing communications by unsubscribing from any email we send. For any other data requests, contact us at support@practicalworkouts.com. If you are located in the EU or UK, you may also have rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
6. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Passwords are stored as salted bcrypt hashes — not in plain text. Sessions are encrypted and stored server-side. That said, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, change your password immediately and contact us.
7. Third-Party Services
PRactical integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:
- Google Analytics — Website analytics (page views, session data, approximate location). Anonymized aggregate data only; not linked to your PRactical account. Privacy Policy

8. Children's Privacy
PRactical is not directed at children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at support@practicalworkouts.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll notify you by email (to the address associated with your account) and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of PRactical after the effective date of a revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
