Strong is one of the most popular workout trackers, and PRactical can import your full history from a Strong CSV export. The process takes about two minutes and works entirely from a desktop browser.
Export your data from Strong
Open Strong on your phone and tap the three-line menu in the top-left corner. Go to Settings, then scroll down to find 'Export Data'. Tap it and choose 'Export Workouts as CSV'. Strong will generate the file and prompt you to share it — choose to save it to your Files app (iPhone) or Downloads folder (Android), or email it to yourself so you can access it from a computer.
Open PRactical import on your computer
On your computer, open a browser and go to practicalworkouts.com/import. Sign in with your PRactical email and password. This is the same account you use on the mobile app.
Upload the Strong CSV file
On the upload screen, either drag your Strong .csv file into the drop zone or click 'click to browse' and select it from your files. PRactical automatically detects the Strong format — no configuration needed. Click 'Import Workouts' and wait a moment while the workouts are processed.
Open PRactical on your phone
Once the import is complete, open the PRactical app on your phone. Your imported workouts appear in the History tab, sorted by date alongside any workouts you've already logged in PRactical.
After choosing 'Save to Files', the file is usually in iCloud Drive or On My iPhone under the Strong folder. If you emailed it to yourself, download the attachment on your computer and upload from there.
Frequently asked questions
Will my Strong PRs carry over?
PRactical recalculates PRs from your imported workout data using its own formula (weight × (1 + reps ÷ 30)). Your best sets will be recognised automatically — no manual entry needed.
What happens if I import the same file twice?
PRactical deduplicates imports by matching workout dates and content. Importing the same file a second time will not create duplicate workouts.
Are custom exercises from Strong imported?
Yes. If you created custom exercises in Strong, they will be imported into PRactical under the same names and added to your personal exercise library.
